Karen grew up in France and England, where she 
competed in eventing (dressage, jumping and cross 
country). She learned from a coach who was trained
at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, and a local
family who rode at Badminton. Karen has developed
her work with horses through feel over the years 
using natural horsemanship principles. Currently 
working closely with Leslie Desmond, her approach 
reflects the practical application of the principles 
Bill Dorrance and Leslie wrote about in "True 
Horsemanship Through Feel". You can read Karen's

Karen has been a horsemanship and training coach in 
Ohio since 2004, including a program in which she 
teaches children from 5yrs and up to work with 
horses through feel. New in 2008, she is offering 
her coaching services in a wider area. Karen 
combines 35 years experience with her education in 
cognitive studies in a way that empowers her 
students with new thought processes, clear 
understanding and practical experiences that fuel 
further independent growth. Her coaching style is 
characterized by her supportive and patient 
nature,laced with her passion for horses and desire 
to inspire and assist her students on their own 
journey with horses. 

She offers a practical way to understand how to 
develop reciprocal feel and lightness in your horse,
by releasing him through feel. She helps you 
experience how and why this means so much to the 
horse and your partnership. Karen also brings her 
European background in classical and event riding 
and knowledge of biomechanics to help you develop a 
more balanced seat that frees the horse's movement 
-- crucial to offering a quality 'feel' from the 
saddle. 

Karen is skilled in effectively communicating the 
sometimes complex or seemingly elusive topics (!) 
that enter into working with horses through feel. 
She chooses to coach because it is a joy and most 
rewarding -- and she hopes to meet you at a workshop 
or clinic soon!
